Atletico de Kolkata player list 2017 is placed here. Atletico de Kolkata or ATK as they are now known, will kick-start the fourth edition of the Indian Super League as the defending champions as they look to add to the two ISL titles they have already won. We have updated the Atletico de Kolkata squad 2017 below as and when the players were signed up. You can also book your Atletico de Kolkata match tickets online here.

After been crowned champions in the inaugural edition of the Indian Super League, Kolkata went on to impress in ISL 2 as well as Iain Hume’s goals took them into the semi-final stages. Sadly, Jose Habas side were beaten in the semi-finals by Chennaiyin FC, the eventual champions of ISL 2.

However, they came back strongly in the third season of the competition and registered a title victory by beating the Kerala Blasters in a penalty shootout in the final. The match had ended 1-1 after regulation and extra time.

The team had moved away from the Yuvabharati Krirangan stadium before the start of the third season and played their home matches at the Rabindra Sarobar stadium in the South of Kolkata. For ISL 2017-18, the ATK side will play their home games at the Salt Lake Stadium.

ATK manager Teddy Sheringham has a reasonably well-rounded side for this year’s ISL as they look to defend their title. The side had retained Debjit Majumder and Prabir Das before the draft and as a result of that, entered the draft in the third round.

Their first Draft pick was Eugeneson Lyngdoh before selecting I-League champion Jayesh Rane but things did not look too good after that.

With Robin Singh joining the squad as well, it adds some muscle to the team, but the big question is whether the other new signings like Keegan Pereira, Anwar Ali, Rupert Nongrum, Augustin Fernandes, Kunzang Bhutia and Bipin Singh among others get going with their strengths?

What Happened in ISL 3:

The side made a few key additions before the beginning of last season. Portuguese striker Helder Postiga was brought in and he made an instant impact before being ruled out for the majority of the competition. Hume had joined from the Kerala Blasters and went on to score 11 goals in the competition last year. Both strikers have been retained by the franchise for ISL 3.

Habas departed after two years with Atletico. The Spaniard was replaced by Jose Francisco Molina who is his compatriot. Alberto Marrero has been roped in as the sporting director for this edition of the ISL.

Previous season’s draft picks Rino Anto and Arata Izumi also left the side but they kept hold of some of their best talents. Defenders Arnab Mondal, Pritam Kotal and Kingshuk Debnath were all a part of the squad along with Jewel Raja, Lalrindika Ralte and Bikramjit Singh.

Sameegh Doutie, who had made a real impression with Atletico last season was also a part of the Atletico side in ISL 3. He was expected to complement Postiga and Hume.

Tiri, Ofentse Nato, Javi Lara, and Borja Fernandez were all retained while Juan Belencoso was brought in to supplement the attack. Scottish midfielder Stephen Pearson has also joined the ranks. ISL ATK Kolkata team list 2017-18 roster is placed below.
