The Delhi Dynamos side decided to make a major overhaul to their squad as they retained not a single member of the team.
Portuguese Miguel Angel has been brought in as their new head coach and in the very first round of the ISL Draft, they picked one of the better goalkeepers in the country, Albino Gomes.
Arguably India’s best right back Pritam Kotal was their second pick before going for Chhangte, Sena Ralte and Seityasen Singh in the next three rounds of the Draft.
19-year-old Vinit Rai was their next pick before selecting Romeo Fernandes and Rowilson Rodrigues and with 10 more players yet to be picked, it will be interesting to see who they go for come the deadline before the squads have to be finalised.
What Happened in ISL 3:
Former Italy, AC Milan and Barcelona defender Gianluca Zambrotta was appointed the head coach for the Delhi Dynamos for ISL 3. He replaced Brazilian World Cup winner Roberto Carlos at the helm.
Zambrotta had a similar career to Carlos’, only operating on the other side of the pitch, and enjoyed a World Cup success in 2006 as a player.
The side had also signed up Brazilian midfielder Emerson Gomes de Moura from Brazilian league side Club America FC for the last season. The announcement came shortly before the Dynamos confirmed the return of Richard Gadze.
The striker had been a major reason behind their top four finish last term and he was picked up to add a different dimension to their existing squad. Alongside Gadze, the Dynamos also secured the services of Senegal defender Baye Niasse.
Florent Malouda, the former Lyon, Chelsea and France midfielder returned as the marquee player for the team for the second successive season. However, Delhi Dynamos FC also snapped up a second marquee player in the form of former Real Madrid star Ruben Gonzalez.
Gonzalez is a Champions League and Spanish La Liga winner with Real and has played alongside the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Carlos in the past.
Ghana international left-back David Addy has also signed on the dotted line besides Marcos Tebar, Bruno Pelissari, Ruben, Marcelinho, Memo, Toni Doblas and Samir Nabi.
Delhi Dynamos let go of striker Robin Singh for the third season. Souvik Chakraborty and Anas Edaathodika were the only two Indian players of repute that are on their roster.
