Pro Kabaddi League 2018 tickets online booking details for season 6 will be placed here. Kabaddi fans rejoice! The Pro Kabaddi League is back in 2017 and it’s bigger and better this season. The fifth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League is set to begin on July 28, 2017 with a star studded opening ceremony slated to begin at at 6:30 PM IST in Hyderabad. You can get all the information on the PKL tickets for this new season here. Puneri Paltans will take on Telugu Titans in the first game in Pune. The complete pro kabaddi league 2017 schedule is placed below.

Four years since its humble beginnings, the PKL will get a lot more investment from its owners, television channel Star. They have decided to double the investment and what that means is that there will also be four new teams added to this edition of the PKL. Pro Kabaddi tickets 2017 can be purchased on online portals such as Bookmyshow, Kyazoonga & Eventsnow.

The fifth season of the Pro Kabaddi League will see 12 teams participate in the competition and there will be a PKL auction for the rest of the new teams. The tournament will begin in July, 2017 and there will only be one edition each year as opposed to two.

What this also means is that the number of games in the PKL will go up to 138 played across 3 months, making it the biggest sports league in the country, trumping even the Indian Premier League which is played over 60 games in April and May every year. The PKL will be played over 13 weeks this season, which could also mean there are more matches played every weekend. The pro kabaddi season 5 schedule will be placed below as soon as it’s announced.

Patna Pirates won the title last two seasons and they have decided not to let raider Pardeep Narwal go. On the other hand, Telugu Titans have decided to retain the services of raid point scorer Rahul Chaudhari, having also won the World Cup medal last time it was played in India. He is appointed the captain of the team.

Jaipur Pink Panthers have decided not retain any of their players despite the presence of the likes of Rajesh Narwal, Amit Hooda, Jasvir Singh and Shabeer Bapu.

Puneri Paltan opted to let go of Manjeet Chhillar and Ajay Thakur but Deepak Niwas Hooda has been retained by the side.

U Mumba’s retained player comes as no surprise as they opted to keep Anup Kumar, the Indian captain during the Kabaddi World Cup. Bengaluru Bulls let go of Mohit Chhillar, but retained Ashish Sangwan, while Dabang Delhi have allowed Iran’s Meyraj Sheykh to remain with them.

On the other hand, Bengal Warriors will have the services of South Korea’s Jang Kun Lee for this edition.

Pro Kabaddi League New Teams

The Pro Kabaddi League welcomed four new teams to its fold to bring up its number of sides from eight to 12 on May 12, 2017.

Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will host these four new teams in the Pro Kabaddi League and will be owned by the JSW Group, Adani Group, GMR Group, and a consortium of star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and entrepreneur N. Prasad. These four companies will go by the names of Tamil Thalaivas (Tamil Nadu), FortuneGiants (Gujarat), UP Yoddha (Uttar Pradesh) and Haryana Steelers (Haryana).

What this also means is that the number of games in the PKL will go up to 130, making it the biggest sports league in the country, trumping even the Indian Premier League which is played over 60 games in April and May every year. The PKL will be played over 13 weeks this season, which could also mean there are more matches played every weekend. More information on the PKL Squads will be available closer to the start of the competition.

Last year, the tournament was converted into a bi-annual one but doubling the number of matches would mean they have now decided to change it to an annual affair. Tickets for the fifth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League will be released soon. The PKL 2017 auction took place on 22nd May broadcast live on Star Sports 1/HD1, 3/HD3.

Patna Pirates will lead the way for this fifth edition of the PKL as they kick-start the competition as defending champions. The Pirates finished fourth in the points table at the end of the league stage of the PKL season 4, with U Mumba having led the way during that stage. However, the Pirates came back from behind to clinch the trophy.

Patna beat the Jaipur Pink Panthers to clinch the title. Pradeep Narwal was declared the player of the series at the end of the 2016 PKL in June.

Interestingly, this was also the first season when the women’s Pro Kabaddi League was released, with the Ice Divas, Fire Birds and Storm Queens participating in this inaugural season. The Queens won the title by beating the Birds in the final.

U Mumba have been one of the more consistent sides in the Pro Kabaddi League, having won the title once and finishing runner-up twice. The Japiur Pink Panthers have also reached the final twice, winning the title once – the first ever edition. The Pirates are two-time defending champions. Tickets for all matches including prokabaddi play-offs and finals will be released at a later date.

The matches will be broadcast on the Star India network in five different languages – English (Star Sports 2, Star Sports HD 2), Hindi (Star Sports 3, Star Sports HD 3, Star Gold), Kannada (Suvarna Plus), Telugu (Maa Movies) and Marathi. Viewers in the UK can watch the event on Life OK. Pro Kabaddi live streaming will be available on Hotstar and Starsports.comOnce any information on the ticket sale for Pro Kabaddi League is released, it will be found here.
